PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION CONSULTANCY
SILFire delivers specialized Passive Fire Protection (PFP) solutions to maintain building integrity and life safety during a fire. We design systems to compartmentalize structures, control fire and smoke spread, and preserve fire-resistance ratings across walls, floors, penetrations, and joints. Our services include project-specific Engineering Judgements (EJ) based on UL/ASTM standards and local codes, thorough site inspections with documentation and labeling, and full compliance support for contractor and Civil Defence approvals. By coordinating closely with all stakeholders, we ensure accurate application, minimize rework, and maintain high standards throughout every project stage.
ASSESSMENT & DESIGN REVIEW
- Evaluate architectural and MEP drawings for fire-rated assemblies and penetration points.
- Identify areas requiring firestopping based on UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and NFPA standards.
- Recommend suitable UL/ASTM-tested systems for each application.
- Highlight non-standard conditions requiring Engineering Judgement (EJ).
ON-SITE EXECUTION & INSPECTION
- Support proper material application and installation by coordinating with contractors.
- Conduct progressive inspections during firestopping works.
- Provide photographic records and firestop identification labelling.
- Verify installed systems match approved drawings and specifications.
ENGINEERING JUDGEMENT & SYSTEM SELECTION
- Develop project-specific EJs where no tested system directly applies.
- Base EJs on internationally recognized fire testing (UL, ASTM), manufacturer input, and code compliance.
- Submit EJ documents for consultant and Civil Defence review (if required).
COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION & AUTHORITY COORDINATION
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and compliance checklists.
- Assist contractors with Civil Defence submission packages.
- Ensure all systems are certified and compliant with relevant authority guidelines.
